over 60 years in the making
High Bank Elevators — formerly Accumar Industries — has been building custom hillside lift systems for Pacific Northwest homeowners since 1988. But the story starts long before that.
In 1960, Scott's father designed and engineered the first cable lift in the family's lineage
by hand — a homebuilt solution for a high-bank waterfront property that captured the same ingenuity that still defines every system we make today. That wasn't a product. It was a craftsman solving a real problem with his own hands. That spirit never left.

Local Roots. Waterfront DNA. Built to last
In the early 1980s, Bill and Scott — two craftsmen with a shared passion for precision work — formed a partnership initially focused on yacht design and construction. But the challenge of building reliable cable lifts for the steep, rain-soaked hillsides of The Pacific Northwest kept pulling their focus. By 1988, that side pursuit had become the whole business. Accumar Industries, LLC was incorporated, with cable and track lift systems as its foundation — handcrafted, custom-built, and engineered for this specific landscape.
Accumar founders, Bill and Scott
In 2022, Accumar was acquired by a local Pacific Northwest family — the former owners of Marine Floats, a well-known name among PNW waterfront property owners. They didn't come to this business as outsiders. They came in with years of experience working alongside exactly the kind of waterfront homeowners our lifts serve, understanding the terrain, the lifestyle, and the challenges of high-bank property ownership firsthand. If you worked with Marine Floats and are now looking for hillside access solutions, you're already in familiar hands.
The company has since rebranded as High Bank Elevators — a name that better reflects what we build and who we build it for. The ownership, the craftspeople, the shop in Poulsbo, and the commitment to handcrafted quality are all exactly as they were. Same roots. New name.
We build nearly everything ourselves.
Right here in the Pacific Northwest
High Bank Elevators designs and fabricates nearly every mechanical component in-house — gondolas, hoists, safety systems, structural steel frameworks, and control panels — all produced in our own workshop in Poulsbo, Washington. Every lift is handcrafted and custom-built for its specific property. That means when something needs attention years down the road, we know the system inside and out — because we designed it, built it, and installed it ourselves.
